How a domestic heating installation runs, from the first survey to the handover.

The short version

A heating installation is a whole-system job rather than an appliance swap. The appliance, the pipework and the controls are chosen together, because a correctly sized unit on badly planned pipework will still leave you disappointed.

What the work involves

Step by step

Seeing the property firstWe walk the house, look at what is already there and ask how each room is actually lived in, then say what would suit it.

Mention the whole system, not just the appliance.

If radiators, controls or cooling are also on your mind, mention them at the survey. Planning them together costs less than adding them separately later.
